Getting button to retain it's state when the slide is revisited
Hi All,
I've created a course in Storyline 3 with a quiz at the end, and I'd like to stipulate that when a couple of questions are wrong, the quiz must be reviewed. I've done this using a button on the results slide. However, after reviewing the quiz and going back to the results slide, the button still takes me back to the beginning of the quiz.
I've tried to set the button to 'Visited' once clicked, but the button does not seem to retain this state when the slide is revisited. I've also used the slide settings to choose 'retain saved state' but this hasn't made a difference.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Many thanks,
Teresa

That would be great thank you!

Hi, Teresa.
Thank you for sharing the .story file!
I'm a little confused about how you want the quiz to work. After the user reviews it, their score remains the same, and since the behavior of the continue button is based on that score, it will still do the same action.
What do you want to happen after they review the quiz?

Hi Maria,
Sorry that I was unclear - ideally, I'd like the user to be directed to the end of the course when clicking the Continue button once they've reviewed the quiz. I'm not sure if that's even possible!

Hi, Teresa.
Thank you for clarifying!
Your idea with the visited state works! Here's how I accomplished that:
- Review the results when the user clicks button 1 if the score is between 63 and 87 AND the button's state is NOT visited.
- Jump to the next slide when the user clicks button 1 if the score is between 63 and 87 AND the button's state IS visited.
I would also suggest changing the message on the Review Quiz layer if the button is visited. Otherwise, it will still say, "You will now need to review the answers" on their second time there.
I hope this helps!
