Grade not reporting in CANVAS
CANVAS is not displaying the grade after a learner completes the lesson. An "X" is displayed as a grade instead of a checkmark. Our Storyline file has the following settings:
- SCORM 2004 3rd edition
- Report status to LMS as passed/incomplete
- Track using number of slides viewed
Once the SCORM file is uploaded to CANVAS it's setup as a graded file and the display grade on the assignment is complete/incomplete.
As a test, we uploaded the zip file to SCORM Cloud and the file worked correctly.
After not having any luck, we tried adding a complete course button to Storyline which would replace the "track using number of slides viewed" setting, but the results in CANVAS were still the same.....the lesson was not graded. There was an "X" in the grade instead of a checkmark.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just wanted to check back in and see if anyone else was able to get a recorded grade using the completion trigger. I saw Derrick above mentioned he had success using a trigger on the last page, and publishing as SCORM 2004. I haven't had any luck with this.

The issues seemed to clear up, especially after the introduction of cmi5. Now they've cropped back up again. This time it appears to be an issue with student accessing Canvas and the SCORM-based assignment on an iPad. This is despite SCORM Cloud and the test student in Canvas both showing no issues and reporting correctly.
I've literally been dealing with this for over 3 years. I have spoken with both Articulate and Canvas support (online and in person at conferences) with no success. I'll post again when/if I get more info - that is if the nursing faculty I build these for don't lynch me first.

I haven't had any success yet. I started a ticket with our university support services. Instructure asked for a copy of my SCORM package for testing so supposedly they are working on finding a resolution. I submitted them earlier this month.

So far my solution has been to create a quiz at the end of the course, we're just doing a quick attestation because it was easy to copy on all courses as a band aid for this issue. I'm not thrilled with it.

Hi Everyone -- I was negligent in passing along this news (I was down with COVID). On November 24, I was notified that Instructure had gone through my SCORM packages and found the problem with SCORM passing scores back to Canvas. Instructure has implemented a fix, and in testing last week, I could find no instance where scores were not passed back correctly into Canvas.
Hope this is good news to those who still need it.
Thanks for the update, Cynthia.
It does not sound like you were negligent at all and I'm glad you were able to take the time to get well. That's the good news here! I hope you're feeling better.

Thank you for the update Cynthia. Have been following this thread as we experience similar issues between Canvas and Rise360.
Do you know if the update is also a fix for Rise360 Scorm packages?
And am I correct in assuming that this fix does not update students' records of past modules (Scorm packages)?
Wishing you a speedy recovery! - PeterTranterCommunity Member
Has any one got a solution yet to the issue of Articulate Storyline Scorm not recording to grading (Marks) in Canvas??

Hi yes SCORM fixed the bug and this year my storyline videos report grades to canvas with zero issue :)

We are having a related problem in that when an assessment created in Storyline is completed (deliberately) incorrectly, it is showing as completed in Canvas Gradebook. Can anyone shed light on this - much appreciated!
