Help -- text box won't show over video

Good afternoon!  I'm trying to sync up three text boxes to show for about 3 seconds each, layered over a 4-minute video in a Storyline slide.  I have moved the text boxes to the front, moved the video to the back, tried using the "timing" function, tried lining up the different text boxes to the playhead cue points, and nothing I'm doing will allow the text boxes to show over the video.  I need to point out behaviors in the video that illustrate the concepts that the module is teaching, at the time those behaviors are shown in the video.  I've tried making the video smaller on the screen and placing the text boxes either above or below the video play area, but they still don't show up.  I've tried placing them on top of the video player to show up where the video is playing, but they still don't show up.  Any thoughts?  Thanks!

I see this is an old thread and I'm a little embarrassed to admit this, but in the spirit of sharing learning from failure:

Another possibility relates to slide timing vs video timing. I was pulling my hair out in frustration until I was realized I was expecting my SLIDE timing to be the same as my VIDEO timing when they operate independently from each other.  ::smacks forehead::

For example, I had a text box pop up 42 seconds in on the slide timing to highlight something that occurs within the video at that time. I used the playbar on the video when previewing the scene to skip ahead 42 seconds into the VIDEO, expecting my text box to appear, and it didn't until the SLIDE had run for 42 seconds.
