Help Using Arrows To Control Direction

So, I am trying to make a "catch the following object" game and having issues with the basket 

When I click the red arrow, it follows the motion path to the right end

When I click the green arrow, it follows it to the left end

I don't want it to go all the way to the end when the arrow is pushed, I want the user to have to keep pushing it to get it in position, so the basically the basket only moves incrementally along the motion path

Any ideas?
