Hiding / Disabling Markers overlaid on video

I am overlaying markers on top of  an already fully edited video. The video cuts to different camera angles. Is there a creative way of disabling the marker at a specific time interval and have it reappear when the camera angle cuts back? Currently, I've been copying and pasting the marker and adjusting on the timeline manually. As you can imagine, this has become super time consuming. Additionally, copying and pasting the marker creates a series of new shapes in which each one needs to be edited when there's an update to the marker.
