High resolution images of Articulate slides required

Good morning/afternoon/evening,

I'm creating a Copilot Agent. 

One of the information sources accessed by the Agent is slides in Articulate presentations that I've created. I need high resolution images of the slides for the Agent to be able to read the text on my slides.

So far, it seems the only way I can add the slides as a [readable] information source for the Agent is to:

  1. in my Articulate presentation - print to WORD; and
  2. upload my presentation to reach360 [or another LMS];
  3. view my presentation online on a large [32 inch +] high resolution [4K] screen and capture each slide in the presentation; 
  4. change the settings in WORD [under "Advanced"] to maximise the resolution of images in the WORD document;
  5. replace the very low-resolution image of the slide [that appears in the WORD document generated at Step 1] with the high-resolution image I've captured at Step 3; 
  6. then print the enhanced WORD document to pdf; and
  7. use the OCR tool in the pdf software to make the text readable and searchable; and
  8. then add the pdf file as an information source for my Agent.

This is a very time-consuming process i.e. I have more than 5,000 slides [80 hours so far and counting].

I assume my requirements (to include Articulate presenter slides as an information source for an Agent) are not unique.

Please advise whether Articulate has any plans to facilitate printing high resolution images of Articulate slides to pdf (ideally) or, if not, to WORD.

Alternatively, any suggestions regarding an alternative [streamlined] procedure to that outlined in Steps 1 to 8 above would be appreciated.

    Yeah, not being able to print as PDF is a problem. I haven't done Copilot agents--can they read from a video, maybe?

    While fiddling with this, I noticed something truly bizarre (to me as a former UX designer): Print and Publish are the exact same thing. Why on Earth? Articulate, why do that? "Print" literally never means to actually print anything in your product?

    Hi JonPlacebo!  With more than 5,000 slides, I can see why you’re looking for a faster way to get the content into your Copilot agent.
    If the agent needs the text on your Storyline slides, try File > Translation > Export to Word. This exports the slide text as editable text, so you may be able to skip the screenshots and OCR. You can include slide images for context, too.
    Would you be able to test that with one project and let us know if it gives the agent what it needs? Text that’s part of an image won’t be extracted this way. Storyline also doesn’t currently offer the high-resolution PDF slide export you asked about, so I understand this may only solve part of your workflow.

    Hi Lauren,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

    This looks promising - however, I can't see a "Translation" option under "File" [see the image below].

    I'm running the current version of Storyline360 - so I'm not sure why this option is not available. 

    I created most of my presentations 5+ years ago [I don't know whether this could be the reason I can't "Translation"] - however, I've have updated and expanded the presentations many times while using the current versions of Storyline 360. 

    I appreciate your help.

    It seems the pathway is now:

    File --> Localization --> Translate Course.

    Hi Lauren,

    I "jumped the gun" i.e., the second option ("Word translation") is the correct option [the first option covers translation to another language].

    The correct option does create the image of the slide [uneditable] followed by a block of editable (and searchable) text i.e., being text that appears in the slide. 

    This could work for my AI Agent purposes. However, the time required to edit the WORD document [i.e., there's a lot of other surplus stuff that needs to be deleted] might be the similar to the time I'm currently spending with my "workaround" [i.e., capture the images off the screen, use OCR etc.].

    Although, it might be useful for other purposes.
