Thank you but still confused.
I thought I could insert background music that would insert into all slides and play continuously slide to slide.
This article is saying, I have to insert the song, into each slide?
I would like it to be continuous except for 1 slide.
Is this possible?

Since you originally asked about reducing the volume of background music, the link I provided jumps to the section about varying the background audio's volume.
The entire page provides instructions about how to insert a playlist for the background audio, as well as other details.
