PROBLEM SOLVED (Big thanks to Luiza Quinto of Articulate Support).
If anyone reading this has trouble getting a hotspot to integrate into a scrolling panel, the fix is as follows:
- Adjust the Timeline view (bottom of the screen) so that the listing for the scrolling panel can be seen.
- Click the hotspot to select it.
- Drag the hotspot around the approximate centre of the scrolling panel a few times (you may see a number of pink orientation lines appear and disappear), then drop the hotspot anywhere within the scrolling panel.
- The hotspot should now be listed in the Timeline view as a 'subordinate' object to the scrolling panel.
- Scroll the scrolling panel. The hotspot should now move in lockstep with the panel.
