Hover State issues - touscreen (IOS) issues
I created a hover state based navigation menu. Where the learner would see a new menu when they hover over a object ( a new layer). Then if they click on the hotspot (that appears at that level) they go to the relevant scene.
All the testing was done on computers rather than tablet or smartphone.
Then when testing text to speech I realized that I can't use the navigation menu.
Hover states with a touch screen work, so long as the is a prolonged touch. Once the user takes their finger off the screen the hover state ends.
Is there a way to add a trigger based on the user device?
You need to add a trigger that when user clicks. That will work on the mobile device and the hover triggers would still work as you have it built.

Hi Tom, can I ask you to clarify your response to Thaddeus' query.
Are you suggesting to add BOTH a hover trigger and a click trigger to the same objects so that if a learner is using a tablet the click trigger will work in lieu of the hover one? Thanks so much for your time!

Adding additional triggers at the base level worked. Seems redundant but created the same functionality for touch screens.
