How do I export a Storyline video with subtitles?
Hello,
I am trying to export my storyline project as an .MP4 with subtitles but it won't seem to work, does anyone know how this can be done?
I've also tried exporting the subtitle file and adding it to windows media player afterwards, but the text keeps coming up in white, even when I have set it to a different colour in the settings.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Hi RehmatGangreker,
Thanks for reaching out!
To include closed captions in your published video, just add captions to your audio tracks and videos like you normally would, then publish the project as a video file. No need to export a separate subtitle file for Windows Media Player.
If you see something different and repairing Storyline doesn't improve things, let me know, and I'd be more than happy to assist you further. You can also connect with us privately in a support case if you want more targeted help.

Hi EricSantos,
Thank you so much for this. I had to 'repair storyline' and now the video exports with the subtitles included, but it still shows up in white text without the black background as I've set it to in the settings. I've attached screenshots so you can see what I mean, perhaps I'm missing something?
Hi RehmatGangreker,
I'm happy to hear that a Storyline repair fixed the subtitle issue! Thanks for the screenshots.
You're on the right track. The subtitles appear differently than in the Storyline player because, once published as video, the operating system (Windows) controls how captions are displayed. You can adjust the appearance by going to Start > Settings > Accessibility > Captions to modify the captions format.
