How do I rotate an object in a drag and drop exercise?
I am creating a drag and drop exercise and am having learners drag and drop labels to their respective components in an architecture diagram. One of the components is labeled vertically. I don't want it vertically in the items to drag/drop box because it will be a huge giveaway. I am trying to rotate it on "drop correct". I tried states and rotate is grayed out, so I couldn't do it there. I tried annimations, while rotate is on the animation page it doesn't have a star next to it so I don't think it is truely an annimation. It just changes the default position, not impated by timeline or trigger.
I'm new to Storyline and looking for an eLearning hero. Any ideas?

See the attached video. Is this what are you looking for?

This is what I am looking for but the reverse. I want to drop the text box onto the vertial object.
How did you do this? Maybe it only works for shapes and now text boxed.

The attached video shows one way you can do this with an animated turn. Or you can just rotate the dropped object in the drop correct state if you don't need the animation.

The rotation is disabled (gray) as a state change option. I'm going to try the animated turn approach that Walt suggested.

Select a object state and click "Edit States". I used a drop correct state in this example. Cut a object (rectangle) and paste it right back while you're still in edit mode. The rotation will be enabled. Rotate as you like. See my attached .story file.

Make sure this option is unchecked. Otherwise, your rotated state would be visible only after interaction was submitted.

I attached a quick overview video of cut/paste part, just in case you are missing something.

It is not selected. The exercise it set to immidate feedback. If you drop on the wrong spot it is rejected. My problem is the rotate option is not available when editing states.

I'm sorry if it didn't work for you. I suggest trying Walt's solution instead.

Here's a shorter, easier way, if you don't want an animation.
