How long will old Rise Preview links forward to newly created Quick Share links?

Thank you for reaching out about your organization's workflow for using Preview links. I'm happy to discuss all things Quick Share!
1. Old Rise Preview link URLs will continue to work indefinitely, even after a Quick Share link is created. They won't automatically forward to a Quick Share link unless you update the course and distribute the new Quick Share link.
2. You and your team will not be forced to manually convert any older Preview links to a Quick Share link in the future. If we make any updates in the future, we'll be sure to share changes on our version history so everyone is aware.

So, seven months later turns out Preview links are expiring on August 31 and we will have to manually turn them to Quick Share links, go figure!

Thanks for following up on this. You're correct. I understand this update means some extra work on your end to replace existing Preview links and ensure that your learners and stakeholders can continue to access your courses without interruption.
As announced, legacy Rise 360 Preview links will be disabled on August 31. To avoid broken links, you'll need to generate new Quick Share links for any courses currently using Preview links and update those links wherever they've been shared.
Here are the steps to update your links:
- Open your Rise 360 course.
- Click Share and create a new Quick Share link.
- Update anywhere you've shared the old Preview link (such as emails, LMS documentation, websites, or other resources) with the new Quick Share link.
- Test the new link to confirm it opens as expected before removing or replacing the old one.

Please clarify - step 3 above indicates that we need to manually locate and replace legacy Preview links with new Quick Share links but this recent (18 days ago) E-Learning Heroes article states in the last paragraph that legacy preview links will permanently redirect to the Quick Share link once a course is republished. Rise 360: Legacy Preview Links Will Be Disabled on August 31
Does 'redirect' mean manually replace or automated redirection behind the scenes?
