How to add video and text side by side in Rise
I would like to build the text narrative to either the right or left of the video created in Peek instead of text only showing at the bottom. When the video starts, if the viewer doesn't have a headset or speakers, they will not be able to follow along with the video. Instead of having the text at the bottom, is there a way to display it either to the right or left of the video with the ability to scroll down either automatically or by the user?

Hello, I too would love to see a video and text layout block. I am aware that there are other options above, but would appreciate it if you would take this into serious consideration as an addition to Rise. Thank you!

Personally and specifically, the format of the Image & Text block would be great! One side is the video & the other is the picture, graph, chart, etc. Thanks!

Would also love to see this option. Constantly have to compromise with an image.

Please add my voice as another in favor of this feature to be added. Especially as one of the sample microlearnings has this showing to "click video to enlarge" (a gif is used instead of a full video).

I did a short recording showing how this is possible (if you're nuts like me), I included several highly desired media/design requests including:
- side-by-side block columns (video + text)
- smaller video icon
- full custom cover pages with branding
- dark mode support (Sasquatch course)
- animated cover page, animated lesson titles
- boots with the fur (audio)

It's really beautiful Phil! Thanks for calling this out Erika - it came up on my mail :)
I do believe it involve editing css/html on the published file, correct? And would have to be done on each course separately?
Great contribution Phil - Your work is inspiring!

Hey Phil—is there a way to save that as a block template once it is created? We have someone on our team that could probably modify the code but we would want to use it in other courses. Or, do you have a block template I could use?
Thanks—Francesca

Francesca, unfortunately this has to be done to the exported course files, I don't have a way to do this within Rise in edit mode.

hey Phil—so nice of you to respond! so if our programmer follows your instructions in the source code—once it is created in that course can it be saved as a block template or do we need to modify code for each instance? Your work is absolutely beautiful by the way!

Thanks Francesca, and yes unfortunately it needs to be done on each individual course after export, as we are using the block id number to get the desired layout. When authoring your course in Rise just make sure the video block comes just before the text block that you want to be side-by-side.
