How to create xAPI statements making use of the activity type 'objective' ?

Hi

We are creating a Storyline file that sends xAPI statements to an LRS. I came across this article from 2022 that mentions the activity type 'objective': https://articulate.com/support/article/Implementing-Tin-Can-API-to-Support-Articulate-Content
However, I'm not sure how to create this activity type in Storyline. A slide corresponds to a 'module', a question corresponds to a 'cmi.interaction' and the course as a whole corresponds to the activity type 'course'. But I can't find any information on the activity type 'objective' anywhere, nor on the 'review slides'.

It would come in very handy if we could group together the slides from a chapter in one objective. Then we would have an objective for each chapter in the course and with the xAPI statements can keep track of what chapters the user has completed etc.

Remark: I'm not looking for custom xAPI statement solutions. My question is whether or not this standard functionality is still available and how to implement it.

Thanks!

  • Hello Victoria,

    Thanks for reaching out!

I believe creating custom activity types isn't supported in Storyline 360, but I opened a support case on your behalf so we can have our support engineers confirm this for you. Please be on the look out for an email from our team regarding your inquiry!
