How to determine if COMMIT command for course sends info back to the LMS

I'm working with my LMS vendor on an odd pop up message that occurs when a learner tries to leave a course before completion. They have asked us whether the COMMIT command for the course sends information back to the LMS when the course is closed, and if we are able to update the COMMIT call when the information is sent.

I tried adjusting the Resume Behavior settings, but it didn't do anything to help this. It may be a bug in the LMS platform, but they can't determine unless we get some info about what the COMMIT command is sending.

  • Hi Dariann,

Thanks so much for reaching out! I appreciate you sharing what you are experiencing on your end.

In order to better assist you, I have a few questions:

    • What LMS are you currently using?
    • Have you tested the behavior of your course in SCORM Cloud?

We recommend testing the behavior of your course in SCORM Cloud to see if the behavior is isolated to your LMS. You can test your course in SCORM Cloud, which is an LMS that we use for testing as well. Here's how:

Looking forward to hearing from you!
