How to generate current date and time?

I want to know how to generate the current date and time that has to be displayed on the screen.
This has to be developed using variables. As I am not familiar on how to do this using Artic...

I can see the Javascript working if I publish and then launch in IE9. What browser are you using? Could it be something to do with your security settings?
