How to Get Rise 360 to Open a Hyperlink in a New Browser Window
We are using Rise 360 with Edge (the company standard) and ComplianceWire as the LMS. We have several buttons in the course that link to Enable Now Simulations and Work Instructions. When the button is clicked, Edge opens the hyperlink in a new browser tab instead of a new window. When the user closes the tab, they do not go back to the course. They can <Alt+Tab> back to the course, but this is widely confusing for users. A few months ago, this worked fine. Now it's a current and retroactive problem with all our Rise courses. We have several courses ready to upload and launch, but we can't get passed this issue.
My research tells me that this is a problem which has been going on for years and appears to be unresolved. This is not a small formatting glitch but is a major issue which could end our company's use of Rise. So, this is a catastrophe for us, especially with so many courses ready to load.
Any suggestions?

As a quick comparison when Rise courses are launched in our LMS, hyperlinks are opened in a new tab. If users close that tab, they once again see the original tab with the course.
Hi chrisgracebmrn!
Glad to see Karl has been helping you!
It's the expected behavior for Rise 360 hyperlinks to open in a new tab, unless the learner right-clicks and chooses to open them in a new window. However, browsers, and LMS settings can influence this behavior as well. Have you had a chance to check the browser settings in Edge, to see which type of configuration has been chosen? As well as any LMS settings available that may be able to override the default behavior of Rise?
Also, incorporating Note Blocks can be a helpful way of guiding learners to the preferred method of opening hyperlinks within a course.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
