How to Guide - Using YouTube to Auto-generate Closed Captioning Transcripts

I’ve captured the steps needed to use YouTube to auto-generate subtitles for videos that you have recorded. Sometimes when we are videoing someone demonstrating how to perform a task there is no script involved. You just let the person tell you the step-by-step process that they are demonstrating. However, when you add the video to your course, you probably still want to ensure that it has subtitles. This video will demonstrated how to use YouTube to transcribe the words spoken within your video recording.

This is great! I use YouTube captioning all the time to take scripts and time them with videos. Their captioning tools have gotten so much better over time!

  • Hi Tracy! This link goes to an "under construction" page. Is there another location for these instructions?

    TIA!
