How to have items appear on screen one at a time
Hi! I would like each section to appear on screen one at a time, instead of scrolling through where all the content is on screen like a website. What is this called and how do I find it? I think this might look more interactive.
Rise is designed to scroll like a website (and adjust responsively to the browser width like a website, too).
If you want a discrete "section to appear on screen one at a time," that sounds like you want a slide-based course. For that, use Storyline.

Check if Block Entrance Animations are turned on:
Course / THEME / Blocks / Block Entrance Animations = ON
This may achieve the effect you want.

You may also want to check out Microlearning for your shorter courses that can be condensed into a single lesson-like experience. The stepped navigation between blocks in your Microlearning does exactly what you're asking - it displays blocks (single, or connected) on the screen one at a time rather than a continuous scroll.
