How to show the time of the video?
Hi heroes!!
Is there any way to show the time of the video?
Learners may want to know how long does it take to watch the video, and how much time did he watch.
Thanks!!

Hello Wally! Within the Video Options, you can choose to Show Video Controls. Choose Below video from the drop-down to add a separate playbar to the video, so learners can play, pause, rewind, and fast forward it. Learners can also see the length of the video within the playbar. (This option isn't available for website videos other than YouTube videos.)

Thanks Alyssa! It works!! ^_^
But I insert a shape(with 100% transparency) in front of the video to avoid user directly click on the video to control it.(If I choose to Show Video Controls, there will be two control bar, a little bit strange...)
Also, I want the screen looks like learners are setting in the classroom, watching the video playing from the projector. Is there any other way? (Such as variables?)
Hi Wally - great to hear! And yes, enabling video controls is the only way to display the video time/duration. You can choose to remove the seekbar in the player if you wish (so you don't have two seekbars). To remove the seekbar in the player, click the gear to open the Slide Properties window, and de-select 'Seekbar'.

Thanks for your help!
Remove the seek bar in the player, and show video controls, is the closest design. You're welcome! Good luck on the rest of your project!

Is there a way to pull that time as a variable? I want to pass it through xAPI to our LRS.

Is there any way to add the time of a video with the seekbar instead of with the video controls? I'm not in love with the look of the video controls.
Hello Torre and welcome to E-Learning Heroes :)
There isn't a feature that would show the amount of time for the slide in the seekbar. You may want to look at some of these custom progress bars, to indicate where the user is in the slide.

Thank you Leslie! I'll take a look and see if this will do what I want to do.

Hi Brittany,
Sorry, you're having trouble with the video controls, but I'm here to help! I can see you've enabled them from that screenshot but without seeing the slide in question it's difficult to say what could be going on. Are you able to share a copy of your file with us? If so, you can upload at this link using the Add Attachment button or you always have an option to share privately with our Support Engineers. Either way, we'll delete it when done testing.
Also, the option to show video controls will only work on videos you've added from a file, not on website videos.
Let me know if you're able to share that file, and we'll take a look!

Thanks! My reply posted separately above.
Hey Brittany,
Thanks for sharing your .story file so that we could take a look.
When previewing your slide, I noticed that I wasn't seeing all the information that I could see on the slide.
I slid the video to the right and noticed that it's larger than the slide:
A quick shrink and the video displays as expected :)
Let me know if that works for you as well.

How silly of me! Thank you!

The Closed Caption box seems to sit right on top of the video controls. Is there a way to move the video controls box?
