Hi all Happy (almost) New Year! Is there a way that images can be added for the sorting activity, instead of just text? Or perhaps it is something that can be included in a future release?

I would like to second this feature, and I have already submitted a feature request a couple of months ago. Is this something on the upcoming timeline? Thank you.

Hi Michael! That is not currently a feature but we're always adding new features to Rise (you can check out what's coming soon on this page) and we take customer feedback very seriously. Please feel free to submit a feature request here :)

And again just bumping up this feedback request - we use sorting activities a lot in our learning but currently we are having to use Storyline blocks which is an inelegant workaround, and take slonger to build and implement then if we could simply use the built in sorting activity in Rise. It also makes doing updates harder - we have people in our team that have licences for Rise but don't use Storyline as development isn't their full time role and Storyline has a higher learning curve then Rise does. Each time we have to perform updates to a Storyline element in a rise module we have to call in one of the specialist learning developers to do the work and re-export it back into the learning (rather than simply having the Rise user do a quick edit as they can with the built in interactions).I thought I'd include the above for content as this request isn't just about the aesthetics of the activity, but also about making it easier to keep the modules updated.

Hi, I made an attempt at recreating the sorting interaction in Rise in Storyline for pictures. I was working with a dietary restriction interaction so the pictures are of food. You can edit the linked pictures and change the accent color as needed in the illustrator file. The Storyline is close to the same but there are some differences. I couldn't simulate the card slide out on drop correct so I used a zoom disappear. I also couldn't simulate the incorrect "shake" to occur at the drop location. It resets to the original location then shakes but I think it has the desired effect. Let me know if you find a sleeker way to do this or if anything isn't working for you. Thanks.

Far too early yet, John. It has only been 4 years.

8 years later, I am adding my plea to please let images into the Rise sorting activity feature!

  Hi ActiveCourses,

Thanks for adding your voice, and sorry this thread has gone so long without a staff reply. Eight years is a long time to keep asking for something that feels so natural for a sorting activity, and I understand the frustration.

The sorting activity supports text-only items, so images can’t be added to the cards at the moment, and I don’t have a timeline to share. If you have access to Storyline 360, you can build the interaction there and add it to your lesson as a Storyline block, though I know that’s an extra step and means updates happen in Storyline instead of Rise.

It comes through clearly in this thread how many people want to sort visual content right inside Rise, and I appreciate you taking the time to add to it.

I also vote for the ability to add images to the Sorting activity in Rise! (And I'll post elsewhere because it is a separate request... but being able to add the sorting activity as a quiz question! 🙂)

For example... I want to ask if x picture is an example of ______.

YES! Adding images to the sorting activity. The original thread was posted 6 years ago and as of Jan. 2024 there is still no image option for the sorting...the lack of development is astounding.

I would love to continue that request as well, has it been considered since last year?

I also need to add images to a sorting activity. It appears most of these requests were most over 5 years ago. Could we get an update on the status of that or a resource to make this happen? It is a dire need.

Agreed....this is pointless

The first post was created 5 years ago and still nothing?? Seems like enough people want this feature to be added to make it a priority. Please add me to the ever growing list of people that want this feature. I'm starting to feel like requesting anything with this company is an exercise in futility.

I agree with the image idea in the sorting activity, although reading through the thread, this is now 5 years down the line and still hasn't happened, so not holding out much hope, which would be disappointing.

I'd also like to chime in to continue this request! I see it has been a topic for over four years, and would really love to see this feature added.
