Rise 360 Sorting Activity-issue
Hi,
We’ve received quite a lot of feedback about the sorting activity in Rise 360.
Many participants struggle to drop cards accurately because targets register based on the mouse pointer position rather than the card’s frame. As a result, a drop can fail if the pointer (or a finger on iPad) isn't inside the drop-target frame when released.
Request: Please update the drop-target logic so hits are detected using the dragged card’s bounding box/frame instead of the pointer location.
Why this matters:
- Reduces failed drops and user frustration
- Improves accessibility and touch interactions (iPad/phones)
- Aligns with common drag-and-drop UX patterns
Also, providing the option to let the learner see the activity-progress would be a useful addition.
Thanks for considering this improvement. Happy to provide examples or help test a fix.

I would really value an official reply on this issue to confirm that Articulate is aware of it.
Hello BorgCube,
Thanks so much for raising this, and thanks to JudyNollet for jumping in with the helpful pointers. I just want to double-check one part of your request to make sure we capture it clearly.
When you say the drop-target logic should use the dragged card’s full frame or bounding box instead of the pointer position, do you mean you want the activity to register a correct drop as long as the card itself overlaps the target, even if the mouse pointer or a finger on a touch device isn’t inside the target at release? This would definitely help with accuracy on touchscreens and reduce those frustrating near-misses.
If that’s exactly what you’re describing, your suggestion is valid, and I’ll make sure it gets documented clearly for our product team. If you want the progress indicator added to the same request, I can capture that too.
Please let me know if this matches what you meant.

Hi Eric,
that's exactly what I mean, yes. :)
And yes, I would love to see a progress indicator if that's a possibility.
Thank you!
