Imported text boxes from PPT not formatting correctly
I'm doing some converting from PPT to storyline, and when I import some of the slides, the text boxes seem to resize in storyline.
Anyone have any insight into why this is happening. It is really annoying to have to format shape and adjust for height on each box.

Hi Ari_Avivi,
I see what you’re running into here. This can definitely be frustrating when you’re expecting a clean import.
What’s happening here is that Storyline doesn’t always interpret PowerPoint text boxes the same way. Differences in how object dimensions and spacing are calculated can cause text boxes to resize slightly during import, even when the text itself looks unchanged.
One thing to keep in mind is that PowerPoint’s autofit behavior doesn’t always carry over cleanly. If the text box was set to resize to fit content, Storyline may handle that differently.
Another factor is that if your slide dimensions don’t match between PowerPoint and Storyline, objects can shift slightly after import.
To help reduce rework:
- Set text boxes to “Do not Autofit” in PowerPoint
- Match slide dimensions before importing
It’s not always a perfect 1:1 conversion, but these steps usually help minimize the resizing. If you’re still noticing consistent differences, you’re welcome to share a sample slide with our support team in a case and we can take a closer look.
