Importing PowerPoint in SL: Format changes, shapes and objects change size, location and format

Hi,

I created a PowerPoint file and used Studio 360 to add narrations. Now I need to export it as a video file but unfortunately, studio 360 can't do that.

So I tried to import the file in StoryLine and then publish it as a video file (mp4) but every time I import the PowerPoint file, the format of the text would change, the objects and shapes would change their size and location. I tried using the 01 in = 96-pixel formula but it still does not work.

The slide size of the PowerPoint is W: 33.876 cm and H: 19.05 cm (16:9). What can I do to export it as a video file?

  • Hi Change Deployment Team,

Thanks for sharing your file! I compared the slide sizes between PowerPoint and Storyline 360 and noticed that while the aspect ratio (Widescreen 16:9) is the same, the pixel sizes are different.

I used the calculator on this website to convert the inches.

The preset widescreen setting in Storyline 360 is 960 x 540, whereas PowerPoint has 1280 x 720. Once you set Storyline 360 to that new size, you should get better results.

As an additional resource, here's what's supported when importing PowerPoint into Storyline. I hope this helps!
