Individual Reporting to LMS

Hello all,

I would like a little more information on how to send individual reports from storyline to our LMS (LC Vista) using SCORM. Right now, we can see if the learner passes/fails. The assessment is multiple choice. We would like to see what answers they got right/wrong, how many times they took the assessment, and how long they took on the course. I have read a few posts already that I've included here: Quiz-Reporting individual responses,  Storyline sends this quiz data, and Storyline 2: Publishing a Course for LMS. In the one discussion, it lists that we should be able to see how the user answered the question and how long they took on that question. I don't see steps for exactly how to set up this quiz data to be sent to our LMS using SCORM 2004 or SCORM 1.2.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Hi Shannon and welcome to the community! The easiest way to think of tracking quiz data is to see it as a team effort between your Storyline 360 course and your LMS.

From the Storyline 360 side of things, the article you already found on what quiz data a published Storyline course can send to your LMS is a good first step for determining what's possible. There's no need to set special settings in your course file to make this reporting happen. It's taken care of for you.

However, just because a Storyline 360 course can send this data to an LMS doesn't always mean every LMS will record and report on it. That depends on the LMS you have—and sometimes how it's set up. If you have an LMS administrator at your organization, they should be able to tell you more about what course data your LMS records. If you don't have someone in an LMS administrator-like role, another option is to reach out directly to your LMS vendor for information on how their software handles reporting.

On a related note, it's also not uncommon for an LMS to record the number of attempts on a course as well. So that data may cover your question about tracking attempts on your course quiz as well.
