Inserted mp4 video pauses when clicked
I inserted several video files into my course. When I preview a slide with a video, clicking on the section of the slide containing the video causes the video to pause. Clicking again causes the video to resume. I found that behavior when I accidentally clicked on the video.
Is this normal behavior? I don't see any way to prevent that from happening. I included the layer seekbar to control the video.
Thanks!

Hi Ejuana, that is normal behavior. One way you can easily prevent that from happening is to add a transparent shape over top of the video.

Mike,
Yes that worked! It would be great to have an option to prevent the video from being clicked (future request!).
Thanks!

Hi Stephane
can you upload the slide - might be easier for someone to help you if they can see the setup of your video slide - just use the grey 'add attachment' button at the bottom of the post.

Easy fix - the rectangle has to have a solid fill (doesn't matter what colour) set to 100% transparency not 'No fill'.
I have updated your .story file - see attached

Agree with Ejuana. Would like to see that as an enabled feature
Hi Brian,
This discussion is a bit older, so it doesn't seem that idea's had a lot of traction. We do get tons of requests and ideas here in the forums and also through our feature request form.
We always love to hear feedback from our customers, and we take all of these suggestions into account. It can be a lot to digest, but here's how we manage all of the ideas we receive!

I'm working around this with the transparent shape at the moment.
Just like you can decide cursor behavior over a hotspot using a right click, allowing pause or not on a video or screencast could be done the same way.

I just submitted a feature request for being able to disable "pause by click." If anything, you should be able to have the seekbar pause if the video pauses. The way it is currently, if the user clicks the video, the video pauses and the seekbar just keeps moving forward merrily along.
Thanks for taking the time to submit that request, Will!
In the meantime, you can add a transparent rectangle on top of the video, as Wendy mentioned here.

Hello!
Is this feature request already built in?
Kind regards, Ulf
Hello Ulf!
Thanks for checking in! This hasn't been added into Storyline 360 yet.
