Inserting GIF files into Storyline
Hello!
I am working on an eLearning projext that requires a lot of GIF files from the client to be integrated into the learning.
While searching the forums I found several posts where people got help in making GIF files work and a few saying that GIF files need to be converted to SWF files.
Which is correct?
Can I insert a GIF file into Storyline? If so How?
If not - how can I convert the GIF to SWF?
Thanks

Hi Walt,
Thanks for reaching out here - are you able to connect with our Support Engineers here to share a copy of the GIF you're using?

I'm having an issue with my animated gif. It works in my browser, but not in Storyline when I preview it. I downloaded the latest release with the gif fix, but it still doesn't work. I just submitted a case to your support engineers. Hope they can help!
Thanks for letting us know that you reached out to the support team. You are welcome to share your case number so that we can follow along.

I just realized that it doesn't work with a photoshop created gif, but it works with a gif I created in a web based tool (which won't work for me because it reduces the quality of the image). So now I'm thinking there is an issue with using Photoshop created gifs in Storyline. Anyone else have this problem?
Is that what you sent our team Megan? I know I've heard folks mention Photoshop gifs not working before - so perhaps our team narrowed that down!

Yes, I sent them the photoshop created gif.

Hi everyone.
Here's how I got mine to work....
I created in photoshop and just up'ed the number of loops.
Then Export to Save for Web.
I hope it works for you.

Thanks Walt. I'll ask my developer if he used those settings in photoshop. Thanks for the tip! I'll update here in a bit.

It didn't work for me. Did that work for anyone else who used Photoshop created GIFs?
Sounds great - do you have a case number so that I can follow along as well?

Sure Ashley, it's case #00886909
Thanks Megan and I do see that you're working with Lea, and she confirmed it to be an issue with the Photoshop gif but that other types of Gifs are working. Looks like there is still some more investigation to do but I'll keep an eye on the case as well.

Hi Megan,
Here is another option.
You could take your files (images) and go to gifmaker.com That might help. Let us know.

So sorry about that. It's actually gifmaker.me

Thanks for your suggestions Walt! Unfortunately, I tried doing that and the image quality was too degraded in comparison to the other graphics I have in the course. For now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that Articulate can figure out why Photoshop gifs won't work.
