Inserting GIF files into Storyline
Hello!
I am working on an eLearning projext that requires a lot of GIF files from the client to be integrated into the learning.
While searching the forums I found several posts where people got help in making GIF files work and a few saying that GIF files need to be converted to SWF files.
Which is correct?
Can I insert a GIF file into Storyline? If so How?
If not - how can I convert the GIF to SWF?
Thanks

David,
I just inserted both static and animated .gifs and they seemed to work okay. Have you tested on your end?

Hi Mike,
I have looked for the Insert GIF option in Storyline Insert menu but can not find in on the tool bar.
I tried inserting a PPT slide with a GIF on it but it doesn't run in preview or published.
Can you direct me on how to insert a GIF correctly?
David,
Same process as inserting a picture.
Click the Insert Tab.
Select Picture.
Navigate to your .gif.
You should also see it labeled as an acceptable picture option if you click the dropdown menu.

Thanks Mike,
I've follwoed your direcctions. They are animated GIFs but the animations don't run.
It's just looking like a regular picture/jpg.
Any suggestions?

You probably need to look for a GIF to SWF converter. Animated GIFs are not supported in Storyline.
Hmmm....nothing off the top of my head. Could you post one for me to take a look at? (If it's proprietary, you can PM me with a dropbox link).

Hee Hee. Gerry...I can't resist. Especially since it's Friday.

Hi David - this might be a dumb question but have you tried to preview your presentation?

Should have read this first. Thanks for the support, I was having the same problem but then in preview I see that the gif is animated. So not a dumb question :)
