Internal Links in Rise Courses
I am currently developing an electronic User Guide in Rise and in Section 2 of the guide I cover System Operation. This section includes a list of topics in two columns, followed by nineteen separate blocks that cover each of the topics. What I would like to be able to do is to use the list of topics as an interactive contents list such that each topic provides a link to the appropriate block below it and takes the user directly to their topic of choice when it is clicked on in the list.
Although I am aware of how to create links to external URLs, I cannot find a way to develop internal links within a Rise course to enable me to achieve the desired outcome for my User Guide. Does anyone out there have any ideas?
If this is not currently possible, I would like to recommend it for a future upgrade as I believe it could prove a popular addition to Rise.

Adding my voice to the chorus of seven year's worth of designers and developers asking for this functionality in Rise. Clients are asking for this feature, and it doesn't seem like it's a new ask. Please add this as a feature request.
Hello KristaEaston-c7,
I really appreciate you adding your voice here. You’re right, Rise doesn’t currently support internal linking between lessons or specific sections within a course. I know this kind of flexibility would make it much easier to guide learners through related content, especially in larger or reference-style courses.
I’ve shared your feedback with our product team to keep this request active and visible. We’ll be sure to post updates in the community if internal linking becomes available in the future.
Thanks again for taking the time to speak up and advocate for this. It helps us prioritize the features that matter most to creators and their clients.

I am looking for this functionality too. It would greatly improve the usability and accessibility for our information modules.

Hi NormanWilwayco!
Thanks for checking in on this!
I don't have any updates to share at the moment, but I've included your voice in the request. We'll be sure to notify you if this enhancement makes it to our Feature Roadmap.

Also, the buttons do work. But it's no substitution for the text link, and the buttons allow only for very short labels.

Really, can you please explain how the buttons work as an internal link? Not to another lesson, an internal anchor link.

Still not a feature, or is it?

How long have we been waiting for this feature? Years? This is such a basic and essential part of content creation, it's insane to me that you haven't added this.
Better make sure we get yet another pointless AI assistant no one wants to help write bad copy instead, I guess.- LukaPetersCommunity Member
Yes, it's always important to follow the buzz ;-)

Will this feature ever get added? Over five years no without a solution.

5+ years since the original ask for a feature with not a hint of development. Not very good optics.

Staff Member - Has there been any headway on this yet?
Hi Sandra!
Thanks for checking in on this!
I don't have any updates to share at this time as our development team has been prioritizing other features. Not to worry! I've included you in the feature report and will update this discussion if it makes it onto our Feature Roadmap.
In the meantime, for your reference, here's a deeper look at how we manage feature requests.

Hi, I am wondering, does this feature exist now ? Creating anchor for internal links could be a great help (for example, when you are using a glossary).
