Is there a maximum amount of scenes and variables in one storyline file?

I'm working on a client project and they'd like one storyline file as the deliverable. Within this file will be 40 modules (40 scenes) of about 7-10 slides each. Most modules/scenes will ...
There will be limits, however, it is based more on the type of slides and complexity rather than a hard fast rule.
I hit the limit on layers once at 450+ but suspect with less complex layers I could have had more.
The question I would ask is why does it need to be in one course, it is likely to be a better user experience if you split into sections.
I am quite new with SCORM package. Would it be possible to upload multiple SCORM packages to an LMS as learning materials? And how the tracking works in this situation.
It will be dependent on the LMS, but most will allow you to upload different packages and sequence them
