Issues with text editing in Storyline 2
When clicking on a text box I am not able to edit the text content and receive a red crossed-out slide view (see attachment). Does anyone of you faced the same issue and how to avoid this?

Hi Patrick!
I cannot see an attachment here. Are you having this difficulty with just one file? I would advise to import your slides into a new file and see if it alleviates the issue.
If you are having difficulty with more than one file, perhaps a repair of your software will assist.

Hi anyone,
I have the same issue to deal with, a red crossed out slide view when I try to edit a text content. Can I have some help?
Thank you, Nathalie
Hi NATAHLIE ASSOULINE,
Welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community! ✨
Since this is an older post that originated from a question regarding Storyline 2, I want to ask you some follow-up questions to understand better how to help you.
- Does this issue happen with every .story file, or one particular file?
- Does the red crossed out slide view appear when you are trying to do something specific?
- Can you try closing Storyline and reopening again?
I look forward to your responses and assisting you!

Hi ,
Thank you for your message.
Here are my responses:
1/ I am working on storyline 3 from a Mac Book pro with parallel desktop
implemented (MacBook Pro (13 pouces, 2016, quatre ports Thunderbolt 3);
processor : 2,9 GHz Intel Core i5 double cœur2/ Does this issue happen with every .story file, or one particular file? : I
have just started working on SL, so for the moment only one current file.3/ Does the red crossed out slide view appear when you are trying to do
something specific? Yes, when I try to edit texts. It seems that the
processor is too meuch solicited. When I close everyapp and files and start
again, it works, but as soon as I open another app, this issue arises.4/Can you try closing Storyline and reopening again? : I did it several
times.I look forward to your responses and assisting you! Thank you !

Hi, Nathalie.
Thank you for the additional information!
Let me ask you a couple more questions to narrow down the issue:
- Are you working from a local hard drive? We don't recommend working with files on a network drive.
- Have you attempted to repair Storyline 3? Here are the instructions.
If a repair doesn't solve the issue, I'd like to connect you with one of our support engineers. You can open a case here.
