Jump from one slide directly to a layer of an other slide

in my e-learning I have one “menu”-slide from where the learner jumps into the various content slides and after every content slide jumps back to the menu slide.

Thank you, too Michael. I would very much like to try your way, too. What I don't understand is how I can insert a text-Variable here since the learner doesn't type any text.
Could you describe a little further what you mean?
the learner is not typing this text. This happens “under the hood” whenever the timeline starts on any of your slides or the main menu. I can’t remember whether storyline 3 allows you to use variables though.
