Slide Layers - Hidden base layers showing up
I keep having a problem when using slide layers: hidden items from the base layer still show up in preview & review. Has anyone else had this issue? Do you know if they are going to fix this?
I just downloaded the latest version.
I'm still having the problem, but when I created a ticket, they told me not to have my Storyline file on the network. That seems to have helped it some. I hope a fix for the bug will come out soon.

Hi DebbieFowler-c1,
Sorry to hear that you've run into this setback.
It sounds like you've already checked your Slide Layer Properties to ensure Hide objects on base layer is selected. Have you applied Slide Master Layouts to this course? I ask because we are tracking a Storyline bug that causes hidden Base Layer objects to appear on Slide Layers when Slide Master layers are also open.
If you're comfortable sharing your .story file, we're happy to take a look and confirm if you're encountering the same issue. Feel free to upload a copy here in the discussion or through a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi, DebbieFowler-c1!
You're correct that saving your file on a network drive can cause erratic behavior, so we recommend saving your file locally. I see my teammate, Darwin, was able to fix the issue by unhiding the base layer texts in the slide layer, then hiding them again. Were you able to review the troubleshooting steps in this article they shared?
If you've saved your file to your local hard drive and this issue persists, please let me know so we can provide further assistance!

I reviewed the article, but it didn't really help. I'm having to do what Darwin did and hide, show, and then re-hide the base layer items to get it to work. I also tested the file in my LMS, and thankfully, the problem didn't appear.

I also have this issue a lot and usually unhiding and re-hiding is usually what I have to do but currently I have a project that it just randomly started happening on a slide I wasn't even working on when I published for review.
It is infuriating, takes a lot of time to troubleshoot, and now is taking longer to troubleshoot. And Hiding Objects on the base layer is not an option because like the OP said, we are only hiding some objects from the base layer so please stop suggesting that as an option for these posts.
I don't expect a solution because there isn't one right now, I just want it to get fixed in the next update.Hello andywhitman,
I'm sorry to hear you are also experiencing this on your end. I completely understand your frustration. I've opened a support case on your behalf so we can take a closer look at your setup. You're in excellent hands! We'll continue the conversation over in your case, so everything is in one spot!

I recommend making sure the issue isn't still persistent when REVISITING slides (clicking next, then clicking back/previous). I'm having this problem where base layer objects whose visibility has been removed on slide layers are showing when a slide is revisited. Resetting and changing their visibility again is not helping. I've opened a ticket and am hoping for quick resolution.

Same, and I'm glad to see it's not just some setting that I overlooked.
I have tried resetting layer visibility, but every time I revisit a slide, content from the base layer that should be hidden keeps showing up, even when other layers are triggered. It's getting extremely frustrating.

I opened a ticket and last week they issued an update that so far has resolved the issue of hidden base layer objects displaying when revisiting slides.
Make sure you're on the latest SL version.
