Learner Link
Hi Lauren,
Thanks for reaching out!
Viewing a Rise 360 share link doesn't require an Articulate ID. Anyone with access to a Rise 360 share link can open the link on a browser, and the course will preview. You can test this behavior by taking a sample share link of one of your courses and opening it in your browser's private or incognito window to see if the course will open.
Try checking the links that you are sharing with your learners to see if they are proper Rise 360 share links. Also, I'd like to note that share links are only recommended to be used to give stakeholders a way to preview your course. We suggest publishing your Rise 360 courses to web instead and hosting them on webservers.

I am currently exploring options to share some courses without the use of an LMS and I have been trying to test the webhosting option BUT this has proven to not be viable for our infrastructure. I am now wondering if sharing the PREVIEW link could work as the OP has noted. Im curious what differences I would see between the two, and to understand why Jose recommends the web publishing approach.
Ive noted that neither capture learner specific data, neither track completion or progress. What other differences should I consider in making this decision?

Hi KellyRipley,
Thanks for reaching out!
We recommend using a web server to share courses because the Rise 360 share link isn't designed to distribute courses to learners. You can easily host web-published Rise 360 courses using a hosting service like Amazon S3.
You're correct that web-published courses and Rise 360's share link don't track learner progress. If you need this information recorded, you'll need to use an LMS or a service like Reach 360.

Thank you for the very fast reply. I appreciate that the Preview link is not designed to share to learners, but my organization does not have the option to use hosting services like Amazon S3, nor do I have other means to use webhosting approach.
To that end, can you please share, beyond it not being INTENDED for this use case, what happens if I DO use the preview link to share my course to learners?
