Make motion path visible so it draws a line.
Hello Community,
I am trying to animate a circle drawing around something. I set up a red dot with a circular motion path, but how do I make the motion path visible.
Or, is there another way to draw a line around something?

Hi Lisa!
Check out this method--no motion paths needed! đ
- Insert an oval shape on top of the object.
- On the Format tab, choose No Fill. Choose your desired outline color and weight.
- On the Animations tab, add the Wheel entrance animation to the circle.
- Preview the slide--voilĂ !
I hope this helps!

You can still have the oval run on the path and look as if it is drawing the shape as Alyssa describes. You may need to experiment a bit to get them to synchronize. My guess is that for sure you will have to set the motion path to no easing.

The wheel animation is a brilliant way to accomplish this! Is there a way to modify the animation so it goes counter clockwise? By default it goes clockwise and that's fine. I was just curious if the direction of animations could be changed. I didn't see a way to do that.
Hi Steve,
There isn't a way to change the direction of that animation but I could see that being a great Feature request, and you can share that here. If youâre wondering what happens when you submit a feature request, hereâs our process.

Thanks! I submitted the feature request and also suggested that it would be nice to be able to select the starting point for the animation (i.e. 12:00 o'clock, 3:00 o'clock, etc.) or by marking a starting point on the object being animated.
Great - thanks Steve! Also, looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email! No worries, this Peek video will show you how to remove it.

Hello Alyssa Gomez,
I am wondering, in this video (Check out this method) you showed how to circle the star, how do you get the to only be circled once you click on the star? Thanks for you help!
Hi Jennifer,
You can accomplish this either by:
1. Adding a trigger to pause the timeline when it starts or reaches a certain cue point/time; then add a trigger to resume the timeline when the star is clicked.
2. Add a layer with the animated circle on it, then add a trigger to display this layer when you clicked on the star.
Please see the attached sample file.
