I'm a big proponent of creating something from scratch if Storyline's built-in functionality doesn't cut it.
Here is a file where I created several different ways to show a zoomed in shot. I got the animated gifs from here: http://ajaxload.info/
I have no idea whether any of these ideas will work for you, but maybe it will inspire some ideas. Hope it helps!
