Sounds like a silly question but how do I remove the shadow from the marker icons? I've had a look in the normal places and taken the shadow off the marker itself but the icon still has a...

Ashley, I thought that would work, too. But I believe what Harri's saying is that the icon itself retains the shadow. Take a look at this screenshot. If you look hard at the default and no shadow icons, you can see that although I applied no shadow, the arrows...that is, the icons themselves...have retained a shadow. If I changed the marker to a custom 1, the shadow was eliminated, but I no longer have the colored button.
