Sounds like a silly question but how do I remove the shadow from the marker icons? I've had a look in the normal places and taken the shadow off the marker itself but the icon still has a...

How about changing the icon color? It works for me. I think the presets have their build-in shadows. You can keep the preset colors, but try and change the icon color.
