Marker Image Incorrect
I have a slide that uses Markers to label important locations on an image. Within those Marker popups are images you can zoom in to.
The process of formatting a Marker is a little bit clunky, so once I had the look I wanted I copy/pasted to all the locations, then replaced the contents of the popup. When I view this in editing mode all the photos are correct, but when I preview the presentation, the thumbnail image for the photo is incorrect; once clicked, however, the photo changes to the correct image.
I found this discussion that describes this in detail: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/markers-showing-incorrect-image
It provided a workaround of deleting the copy/pasted markers and recreating them; this involves re-formatting them to look and feel the same as the markers that work. The markers feature is clunky enough to begin with that it seems additional workarounds just makes it more difficult.
The team says they are aware of the issue, but this discussion occurred 3 years ago. Is this something on the road map to be fixed?
Hi all!
We just released Storyline 360 (Build 3.94.33511.0), which includes a fix for a bug that was reported in this thread: markers that were duplicated and had zoom enabled didn't display correctly.
To take advantage of this fix and others, all you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app!

Please add my voice to this issue as well. Very time consuming to discover after building MANY slides using markers. I used copy and paste to maximize efficiencies in the dev process. Ugh.

Add my voice also. Very time consuming to fix after the fact.

Hi Tim,
I'm sorry you're having an issue with image markers! As you may have read in the conversation you linked to, you are experiencing a bug in the software that has already been reported. We are aware of the issue but it's not on the roadmap just yet. I'm going to add your voice to the report. If there's any news regarding this bug, this conversation will be updated.
Thanks for letting us know you're are having this issue!

Just wanted to chime in and say that this is still happening in December 2023. Although, it's worse than I've seen in the past. I have always known there was an issue with this when duplicating markers, but apparently, it's the same when duplicating slides with markers.
The first interaction I created with markers was pulling images from later duplicates. For example, the first marker on the slide is pulling the image from the first marker on the last slide in the preview. So, while Interaction #1 is not a duplicate of anything, it's pulling the image from the same marker in Interaction #2 and showing that image unless you zoom in.
Even more odd, if I preview Interactions 1-4, for example, the first marker in Interactions 1,2, and 3 all show the image from Marker 1 in Interaction 4.I tried to delete the media from Marker 1 in Interaction 1 and reinsert the image. This appeared to work at first, but then I realized the image on Marker 1 in Interaction 2 was pulling the re-inserted (from Interaction 1) image into its marker.
So, it's weird. It's almost in the way that SL is storing these images for these markers, but I'm not sure. However, it is definitely still an issue 4 years later, relative to the post that you linked to. Thanks so much for sharing what you're experiencing, Noah!
We don't have any updates to share at this time, but I have added your voice to this bug report.
We'll be sure to share any news in this thread in the future to keep everyone in the loop.
Hope that you have a great holiday season! 🎉
