My Images Disappeared

Good day! About your inquiry, It seems that your image source files might have gotten corrupted. I understand that the filename is still showing in StoryLine's Timeline pane and it is still somehow selectable as shown in your attached screenshot.
I have yet to encounter this issue personally, But I did find a helpful article that might be related to what's happening on your project now. Check it out here Storyline: Create, Edit, and Publish Courses on Your Local Hard Drive.
From the Course Assets topic in the article, they cited examples of strange behavior that occurs when an asset is corrupt. One was if "The asset is blank, distorted, or unresponsive. For example, an image looks like an empty box, or a video refuses to play". The suggested workaround stated was to delete the asset from your course, copy the original asset to your local computer, then import it again.
