NEW IN RISE: Collapsing Sections
There’s a cool new feature in Rise that makes your courses even easier for learners to use: collapsing sections. Now learners can collapse and expand sections of the course outline in the sidebar to quickly see the structure of your course. Here’s how it looks:
We hope you’ll love this latest enhancement to the learner experience in Rise!
Hello everyone,
I'm happy to let you know we released a new update for Rise 360! This update adds the following feature:
- Automatically collapse sections in sidebar and compact navigation.
There's nothing to install for web apps. New features and fixes are immediately available, though you might need to publish your Rise 360 course again.
Let me know if you have any questions about this update.

I'm searching for a way to make this a setting, so that I can set the course to have all sections collapsed when it opens. I saw that as a request from three years ago...is it still not available?
Hi All! Thanks for following up on this feature!
No news on this yet, currently the section headers are displayed expanded by default. If we make any changes to the way this works, I'll update you all here!

I too was looking for a way to have the sections in the navigation menu collapsed upon launch. It seems this feature is very much needed. Would love to know when it's made available. Thanks!

Hi Articulate staff, i note this feature has been requested over a number of years. Is it actually on your roadmap? This is a critical user experience function that I would like to see as a priority as opposed to some of the fancy new feature releases that have taken place to date.

I'm surprised this still hasn't made it into Rise, yet it's in Storyline. Please consider adding the feature to collapse one or more sections by default in a course.
Hi there, Mark. We've counted everyone's voices here on the request. We'll share an update if we release this feature.

+1, a setting for this makes sense.
I realise Rise and Storyline are different products, but when you have a lot of learners completing their learning on mobile devices, the amount of scrolling is something I would like to reduce.
Sections give learners a great overview. I've started looking at Rise for online guides also, so having minimised sections is ideal for navigation.
Having a setting gives everyone the best of both worlds.
You might even consider another one for the first being open with the rest closed as an additional setting :) so there are three possibilities.
Thanks for listening.

Hi there, I am also looking for the option to have a setting to control the section headers. It would be an incredible enhancement to be able to default them to be collapsed initially. A win for user experience for sure. Thanks! Marlena

Hi there, just wondering if the requested feature has been implemented? Else, where may I vote up that feature request?
Thanks!

Any update on this feature?
Hello Stephen,
I responded to your other post here. Both posts are linked to the same feature request. Thank you.

It's good to see this has now been added. Thank you.
I'm assuming my 3rd option from 4 years ago was deemed a step too far (to also include an option which expanded the first lesson but collapsed all the others).
