Have you tried setting the revisit behavior of your slides to 'Reset to initial state' so that each revisit of the slide is treated like the initial one? You can check out this article which explains how to change the revisit behavior of your slide:

I have permanently disabled the Prev/ Next, as I wrote in my first message. I cannot disable them from the whole course.
Changing to the slide to revisit to the initial state means that the learner will need to retake the test and I need to assess this change as a designer and if it serves the course. I will try it and see if/how it behaves.
