The nav buttons for question slides are tricky, because the built-in functionality will show PREV and NEXT when reviewed. But the default doesn't give you access to those buttons if you try to trigger them.
Here's what works to let you control the NEXT button on a question slide:
- Use Slide Properties to add NEXT to the slide. This will make that button available in the Trigger Wizard.
- Add a trigger that hides (or disables) NEXT when the timeline starts.
- Add a condition, as needed.
Caveat: If you hide the NEXT button, be sure there is some other button available for advancing if the user revisits the slide but doesn't have to re-answer it.
