Not full screen on phone and tablet
Hello,
I'm building an eLearning on Storyline 3 to be viewed mainly on mobile. When I published the course, there is a black block underneath the course when viewed on mobile but it's in full length when viewed on desktop.
Desktop - full length
Phone - with black block below
I've unchecked all the controls and menus on player, as well as the slide navigation buttons and swipes under slide properties.
Is there a solution to that? Thanks!
Hello,
You're seeing black bars when viewing your course on your mobile device because the aspect ratio of the slide size doesn't match the ratio of the screen you're using to view the course. The modern player will respond to fit any screen size as much as possible, without stretching or skewing the slide itself.

If you could post the specifications of the device you're using to view your course here, members of our community can share their experience on which slide size would work best for that screen.

Hello Joe,
If I would like the course to be viewed on iPhone, what size should I set in order to minimize the black bars?
Is it possible to set the player in a way that content stretches to fit the full screen length (not width) of the user's phone screen?
Thank you.

it depends
- on the screen ratio of the device (320x568, 375x667, 414x736, 414x896, 390x884 ...)
- which storyline navigation buttons you use
- modern player (storyline 360) / classic player
just test it yourselfhere is an example for
- iPhone XR (ratio 414x896)
- modern player
- all standard button active=> (optimal) storyline size 640x1300 pixel
for all other screen ratios there are other 'optimal' sizes at storyline
iPhone SE with 640x1300 Pixel
