And i just ran into this again... how long is this in issue? :D why do we need to work with a workaround to an over 5 year old problem... i think this is an easy fix...
I have found another way (I might not be the first) which can be applied to "All slides using [same design as slide being applied to]". Granted, one still has to at least go to each slide style in the project. Still beats editing each note box in the project.
I used the option in the Text Styles menu to modify Normal Text to my selection of preferred white-on-black text font, then used "Apply Normal Text Style and Preserve Formatting" to "All slides using [same design as slide being applied to]".
