Open Ended Questions
I would like to be added as well. I'm currently working on a workaround to make this function happen.
Hi nikee3057,
Do you mind sharing more details on how you and your team are working around this limitation?
Also, I’d like to highlight our new Rise 360: Labs feature, called Survey Block. This Block supports open-text fields, allowing learners to submit short and long responses.
Give it a try and let us know what you think!

StevenBenassi Hello! I did find the survey block and created a survey in the last course (using Rise360), which is part of a learning path in Reach 360. I'm using it to gauge overall satisfaction with the entire learning path's content as well as asking them to provide any feedback they have. The block is very black and white. Not very customizable; for example, black and white sad to happy faces for a 5 pt scale, but that's the option I have to use to be able to customize the label of each point 1-5. My other issue is that the info from both of those uses doesn't seem to flow into a report in Reach 360.
A seperate problem is not being able to use quizzes as a pre-test (before the educational content is taken by the learner) and also as a post-test (after the learner has been through the educational content) to gauge knowledge gain. The report will only track one or the other, not both. This will cause a lot of manual work.

Hi nikee3057,
Thanks for the feedback on how we can improve Survey Blocks and Quizzing in Rise 360.
I understand that you'd like to see:
- More customization and design options within Survey Blocks themselves.
- Support for Survey Block reporting in Reach 360.
- The ability to combine multiple Quiz results in Rise 360.
Currently, Rise authors can add multiple Quizzes, but there isn't a way to connect the results to measure knowledge gain. If you're open to building this type of design in Storyline, my colleague Allison shared an example here.
Please keep in mind that Storyline can only send one score to an LMS. You'll need to decide on which grade gets tracked with LMS distribution. This article goes into further detail on quizzing and tracking options when sending scores from Storyline to an LMS. As well as this user guide, which outlines the process for designing branching paths in Storyline.
Along with the original thread topic for an Open-Ended Question Block in Rise, I can confirm all of these requests will be shared directly with our development team. Please let me know if I can help with anything else!
