Pesky Grey Lines on Background After Adding Slider
Hi Group
I had a situation where, after adding either a checkbox or slider to a screen (Storyline 360 project) that was working fine, a feint grey line appeared on the screen when viewing on my mobile phone in Chrome once the project was published to a webserver.
This was very reproducible on multiple phones of the same brand and model - Galaxy A12 - when using Chrome (both device(s) and Chrome with current updates installed).
This line didn't appear on other devices under the same circumstances. In fact, it didn't even appear on the phones in question when using another browser, e.g., Firefox or the proprietary Samsung browser. Only in Chrome.
If I took the slider away, the line didn't appear. I originally had a checkbox for the option I was trying to represent on screen (the 'Sound Effects one in the image), but the line appeared so I went to the slider thinking it was something to do with the checkbox. I stayed with the slider 'cos I like how it looks and works - apart from the stupid line.
Although it probably wasn't a show-stopper as it was a minor flaw and it wasn't likely to affect too many users, I still wanted to understand what was causing it.
After several hours of systematically removing items on the screen to try and determine what object or combination of objects was causing this line, I hit on the answer.
The yellow gradient background was a rectangle. On removing the rectangle and instead formatting the background via the Design->Background Styles tab the pesky line went away.
I'll probably never know why this happened and may never encounter this hiccup again. But if you happen to see it, perhaps this workaround will be something to try.
