Possible accessibility bug in latest Storyline update (3.96.33815.0)

I'm having problems with NVDA and the latest version of Storyline. Jan 21st (3.96.33815.0)

When arriving on a new slide, NVDA announces the slide title then either skips past the end of the slide or starts reading halfway through the slide.

Rolling back to the previous version makes it works fine. Anyone else having this problem?

  • Hi Vic,

    Happy to help!

I tested the behavior using the latest version of NVDA and Storyline 360 and a simple 2-slide project file, but I couldn't observe any issues with how the text was read. The difference between our test results may have something to do with the simplicity of my project file, which I've attached. Have you tried testing your course using JAWS to see if the behavior is specific to NVDA?

To accurately test the reported behavior, would you be willing to share a copy of your project file here or privately by opening a support case so we can take a closer look at what's happening? We'll delete it when we're done testing!

Hi - yes it seems to only happen on some slides. I'm working on a deadline so I will keep using the previous version for now and open a support case when I have some spare time.
    Thanks

    • Hi Vic,

I'm happy to chime in! I appreciate your sharing that the issue was not observed in an earlier Storyline version.

Since we cannot replicate the issue even with Update 96, it is recommended that we look at the affected slides so we can isolate what causes the problem and share our investigation results with the product team.

Please feel free to open a support case with us at your convenience and share the affected slides if you can. Thank you.
