Posting a lesson sample of your rise course on your website

I am wondering if any of you guys have created a lesson sample and posted it on your website? I am looking to display a lesson block on my website, make one a live sample and have the remaining lessons greyed out.

    Hi Robert,

As along as you have a web space to host your course, publishing a Rise course for Web is fairly simple.

However, Rise does not give you the option to have only one lesson live and the rest greyed out.

You would have to make a copy of your course, and then delete the Lessons you don't want to provide access to.

Thanks Karl - My goal is to display each lesson per course on my site and have one clickable to give the customer a taster of the format interactivity etc.

Hi Karin - Absolutely love how you've created this! How did you go about attaching your domain?

Thanks I output the Rise to a zip and then used FTP to transfer the zip to my  host server. I unzipped the file at the root level and replaced my previous index file with the new one from the zip. It was pretty easy, but you need to understand FTP.

I understand that setting up my site this way may not be a great option as far as search engine optimization goes. But I send people to my site and am not too concerned about being able to be easily found.

LOL - You're too far ahead of the game Karin - you just need to wait on the rest catching up!

Unfortunately, at the moment I do rely on traffic for my site and can't sacrifice SEO.

I actually don't know why, though -- and would like to. Why does using Rise negatively impact SEO and is there anything that can be done about that? If anybody knows, please share!

  • Hey Karin and Robert - I'm going to see if I can find an answer on Rise 360 courses and search engine optimization. I'll share here what I discover!

Thanks, Crystal -- that would be great. Also -- is there any way to improve it?
