Problem-solving Multi-Click Knowledge Check

Hi fellow designers,

I am working on a course in Storyline 360 where I am trying to accomplish the same results as a drag/drop without using drag/drop so that the activity will be mobile friendly. I would like students to select two matching variables repeatedly on one page - obviously different variables each time.

Here's an overview list of what I am trying to do:

1. Student selects two variables. In my sample file, student would select two like terms - "constricts pupils" & "constricts pupils"
2. Student "submits" their choices and receive feedback slide (either correct or incorrect)
3. When selected choices are correct, there is a state change for the two variables selected.
4. Student returns to the main content slide to select more variables.

I am submitting my test file for review so that you can see my progress and where I am stuck. Please let me know if you have other thoughts about how to design this activity.
